Hong Kong Research Institute of Humanities and Natural Science and Technology

The objectives of the Institute and its main functions are to bring together the best scientific people, to foster and promote scientific activity, to advise the Government on research and scientific matters, to maintain contacts with equivalent institutions abroad, to promote research in the humanities and natural sciences, and to take as its mission the dissemination of knowledge and scholarly exchanges. Headquartered in Hong Kong and initiated by scholars and experts in scientific research in the fields of humanities, sociology and natural sciences, the Institute has remained steadfast to its mission and continues to contribute to the cause of scientific research and the development of society in Hong Kong and around the world.

The Institute is committed to developing an infrastructure for prosperous scientific research. It sets high standards in the humanities, natural sciences and technology, encourages creativity and excellence in scientific thought, and takes action. Hong Kong Research Institute of Humanities and Natural Science and Technology has a number of committees and research units covering a wide range of areas in the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences. These committees and scientific research units are composed of experts and scholars in various fields, promote research in the relevant fields and actively promote academic exchanges and cooperation. Whether it is organising international conferences or participating in international research projects, the institution is constantly improving its international influence and competitiveness.

Hong Kong Research Institute of Humanities and Natural Science and Technology maintains close contact and co-operation with academic institutions and scientists around the world, including the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom and Singapore, and actively participates in international academic exchanges and collaborative research.
